General Terms and Conditions (GTC)

The General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to all training courses offered by the BRK Erlangen-Höchstadt Training Center - hereinafter referred to as BRK.

Persons, companies or other institutions are hereinafter referred to as clients or course participants.

1. Course offer and registration

The advertised courses take place on the dates and times specified in the rooms designated by the BRK and are published by the BRK on the Internet. Registrations will be considered in the order in which they are received. Registration is binding for the course participant.

Registration for courses can be made
- via the homepage www.kverlangen-hoechstadt.brk.de/kurse.html
- by email
- in writing
- by telephone

2. Participant fees/billing

The stated participant fee is due on the day of the event and must be paid in cash to the course instructor (private payer). Corporate customers may be invoiced if this has been agreed in advance. For company first aiders, we require the fully completed and stamped "Form of the employers' liability insurance association". This form is usually handed over to the course instructor by the course participant. Please observe the regulations of the relevant employers' liability insurance association. Participant fees that are not covered by the employers' liability insurance association will be charged to the client. If the form has not been received by 10 working days after the event at the latest, the client will be invoiced at the applicable rate of the employers' liability insurance association. It is no longer possible to cancel the invoice by submitting the form at a later date.

3. Cancellation fees

Cancellations of participation will only be accepted in writing and confirmed by the BRK in the same form. If participation is canceled up to 7 working days before the start of the course, no cancellation fees will be charged. If participation is canceled up to 2 days before the start of the course, 50% of the participation fee will be charged. If participation is canceled later or in the event of a no-show, the full participation fee will be charged, irrespective of the reason for which the client or course participant withdraws. The cancellation fee will be charged to the course participant or the client. The cancellation fee is waived if a substitute participant is named to take part in the course. The substitute participant may attend without prior registration and shall inform the course instructor accordingly.

4. Cancellation of the course

The BRK can cancel the course offered up to 14 calendar days before the start of the course without giving reasons. The BRK may cancel the course up to 2 working days in advance due to an insufficient number of participants. The BRK will cancel at short notice in the event of force majeure or exceptional events (e.g. fire, flooding, damage to buildings, etc.), as well as in the event of the course instructor falling ill at short notice. Claims against the BRK are excluded in these cases. Alternative dates will be published on the Internet or agreed with the client.

5. Closed courses/inhouse training courses

In-house training courses are held on the client's premises with a minimum of 14 participants. The client is obliged to provide a suitable training room with a floor space of 60 square meters, as well as available media (flip chart, projector, pin board or whiteboard). In the case of in-house training courses held in the district of Erlangen-Höchstadt, travel costs and travel time shall be reimbursed at a flat rate totaling € 50.00. For in-house training courses that take place outside the district, a lump sum totaling € 100.00 will be charged. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, the client will be charged at least an amount corresponding to the participation of 14 persons. If the minimum number of participants falls below 9, BRK reserves the right not to start or continue the course. In principle, the maximum number of participants is 20.

6. Confirmation of participation

Successful participation in the course requires, among other things, active practice of the measures presented and active participation in the stations set up. This will be confirmed with a certificate of attendance.

7. Changes

A change of lecturer or instructor or changes to the course schedule do not entitle participants to withdraw from the contract or reduce the fee.

8. Liability

The BRK accepts no liability for valuables or items of clothing brought along by the participant during the event. The BRK accepts no liability for personal injury if this is not directly related to the exercise instructions.

9. Data collection

By registering, participants agree that their personal data may be collected for course administration purposes and stored and processed in accordance with data protection principles and statutory regulations.

10. Severability clause

In the event of the legal invalidity of individual provisions of these GTC, all other clauses shall remain valid.
